  • Stroll along the promenade to the Celtic Cross (watch out for the seals at the potter’s pontoon!)
  • Explore the East Coast from the topside of the East Pier.
  • Climb to the Martello Tower for the big picture of the harbour, Ireland’s Eye, Lambay and the northern coast of Ireland as far as the Mourne Mountains.
  • Walk the medieval steps to the 11th century Abbey, built by the christianised viking, King Sitric.
